Tuesday at the Table
One Table. Many Stories.
This season at Christ’s Church, we are reinvigorating an old parish rhythm: Tuesday at the Table - a monthly evening of shared food, conversation, and connection.
Each gathering will include dinner and something simple and meaningful to share together: a movie, a hymn sing, or another way to experience community.
This is a holy experiment for the spring. There is no expectation of ongoing commitment. Come once or come often - whatever fits your life.
Our first gathering:
Dinner & A Movie
Tuesday, March 24 at 6:00 pm in the Parish Hall
In partnership with our prison ministry HudsonLink, our first Tuesday at the Table gathering will center on the powerful and hope-filled documentary Beyond that invites us into stories rarely heard.
Set inside Sing Sing, one of the country’s most well-known maximum-security prisons, the film follows a group of incarcerated men as they prepare for a TED-style event where they share their personal stories and their hopes for healing, justice, and change. With rare and intimate access, the documentary traces their journey from auditions to the stage - revealing moments of courage, vulnerability, accountability, and unexpected grace along the way.
It is a moving portrait of human dignity and the possibility of redemption, and a meaningful starting point for the kind of honest, thoughtful conversation we hope Tuesday at the Table will foster.
Dinner will be served, the film will be shown, and we’ll leave time afterward for conversation around the tables.
We will also offer nursery care and have a program for our children and youth in other spaces after they eat dinner.
We hope you’ll pull up a chair.
